NCH CHOOSES COGNOS TM1 FOR TIME AND COST EFFECTIVE BUDGETING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

London, UK – November 08, 2007 – Cognos® (NASDAQ: COGN) (TSX: CSN), the world leader in business intelligence and performance management solutions, today announced that it has been chosen by NCH, the UK's leading children’s charity, to supply Cognos’s TM1® to manage its budgeting, reporting and financial planning. Cognos TM1 is a product of Applix. Inc., now an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Cognos.

NCH will implement Cognos TM1 to consolidate more than 2000 Excel spreadsheets, which will be pulled into one comprehensive, centralised database holding budgeting and financial planning data for the charity.

Cognos TM1 will also be used to help NCH look at future reporting for the charity, specifically in the area of performance management as well as more general reporting with the help of TM1’s dashboard capability.
