The JCB Retail Pathways ™ allows retail customers to quickly gain insight into the masses of operational data that accumulate in POS, ERP, and supplier systems. Built on a foundation of IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence and IBM Cognos 8 Planning, it consists of an industry-specific dimensional data mart (Oracle or SQLServer), reports, analysis, dashboards, scorecards, event alerts, and ETL processes. The solution transforms data from multiple sources into a conformed, structured information environment for high-performance analysis.Our retail dashboard summarizes the key operational indicators of your business, allowing users to identify areas that are not performing to plan. Targeting performance weaknesses across product lines, geography, seasonality, store attributes, and management highlights where business improvement efforts should be focused. Retail analytics summarize data to the highest levels in the organization. It supports analytic pathways by enabling drill-down and drill-through into detailed data for further exploration.

Architecture
The Retail Pathways ™ incorporates data warehouse concepts to collect and transform operational data from many source systems. Data is transferred to the dimensional data mart using ETL and post-ETL processes. Once staged, data is restructured for analytical processes. The Cognos data manager and Informatica are the integration points for the ETL process.The solution supports any source database or data file technology, and targets Oracle or SQL Server for the data mart.
The dashboard uses IBM Cognos 8 BI components and provides subordinate drill-through analysis reports for each chart. Data analysis is achieved using a combination of dimensional framework modeling for drill-down analysis and drill-through support for reporting, analysis, scorecarding, and query. Cognos event management provides event triggers based on pre-defined logic tests such as Cash over Short anomalies, missed forecast targets, and out-of-range key performance indicators.
