Overview
The IBS Business Intelligence (IBS BI) solution is designed with supply chain management businesses in mind. These include distributors, wholesalers, and manufacturers in targeted vertical markets (e.g., paper, pharmaceuticals), as well as other mid-sized and large companies looking for BI solutions in supply chain performance.IBS BI helps your company identify processes and values that are critical to your business processes. The data warehouse allows you to source any data from within the enterprise, as well as leverage data from external sources.
On a day-to-day basis you can, for example, obtain constant analyses of stock levels and movements in warehouses throughout the organization, helping to optimize processes and transactions. On a longer-range level, IBS BI provides access to sales information, statistics and benchmark data, market forecasts, and other data to help your company analyze current positions and decide future directions.
The Supply Chain Council-Europe has recognized IBS BI as the premier BI solution that incorporates SCOR (Supply-Chain Operations Reference-model) metrics and benchmarking. SCOR is the international standard diagnostics tool for performance measurement and analysis.
The IBS BI solution includes IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence client applications, ETL processes, and OLAP data extractions—through an easy-to-use user interface.

Architecture
IBS BI is a complete application that integrates Cognos server and modeling as the reporting solution. Other components include MS SQL Server and MS Analysis Services as well as a tool for ETL developed by IBS.The solution also has predefined schema transformations, cubes, and reports for the business areas addressed by the IBS Enterprise Application (see http://www.ibs.net). Predefined reports, metrics, cubes, and data models are currently available in the following areas:
- Sales order management
- Procurement
- Inventory
- Financials
- SCOR (supply chain performance metrics as defined in the SCOR model provided by Supply Chain Council, SCC)
Integration from the Cognos software is through the base product, always through virtual cubes in the MS Analysis Server component. Currently, the only platform supported is Windows Server.
