Overview

The IBS Business Intelligence (IBS BI) solution is designed for supply chain management businesses including distributors, wholesalers, and manufacturers in targeted vertical markets. It is also for mid-sized and large companies looking to improve supply chain performance.

The IBS BI solution helps companies identify processes and values that are critical to their business processes. The data warehouse allows them to source any data from within the enterprise, as well as external sources.

IBS customers can, for example, obtain daily analyses of stock levels and movements in various warehouses throughout the organization. This helps to optimize processes and transactions. On a longer-range level, businesses can access data such as sales information, statistics, benchmark data, and market forecasts to analyze current positions and decide future directions.

IBS BI is recognized by the Supply Chain Council-Europe as the premier BI solution that incorporates SCOR (Supply-Chain Operations Reference-model) metrics and benchmarking. SCOR is the international standard diagnostics tool for performance measurement and analysis. The IBS BI solution includes IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence client applications, ETL processes, and OLAP data extractions – all in an easy-to-use UI.

Architecture


IBS BI is a complete BI application that integrates Cognos Server and Modeling as the reporting solution. Other components include MS SQL Server and MS Analysis Services and a tool for ETL developed by IBS.

The software also has predefined schema transformations, cubes, and reports for the business areas addressed by the IBS Enterprise Application. Predefined reports, metrics, cubes, and data models are currently available in the following areas:

  • Sales order management
  • Procurement
  • Inventory
  • Financials
  • SCOR

Integration from the Cognos software is always through virtual cubes in the MS Analysis Server component. Currently the only supported platform is Windows Server.
