Overview
IBM Cognos Finance allows finance professionals to build and deploy financial reporting, budgeting, allocation, and consolidation applications in an all-in-one financial analytics platform. With the input and reporting modules, users can easily design multidimensional, highly formatted and customized financial reports.
The CF Expansion Pack takes these capabilities into an Excel environment, reading and writing to the IBM Cognos Finance system by leveraging the IBM Cognos Finance Excel Add-In.
The CF Expansion Pack simplifies many of the complexities associated with creating, editing, and maintaining financial reports. As an extension to IBM Cognos Finance, the CF Expansion Pack provides functionality that automates many of the manual processes associated with report development and maintenance. This includes creating, editing, importing, scheduling, enhancing, and maintaining financial reports within Excel.

- Workbook Update Scheduler eases the creation of Windows scheduled tasks to open any Excel workbook and update the results from a specified CF system.
- Error checking within Functions inside an Excel workbook identifies all CF functions that are in error.
Architecture
The CF Expansion Pack works with the IBM Cognos Finance Excel Add-In, leveraging the SDK/API. The solution requires Excel XP or higher.
