What is RSS?
RSS, which stands for "Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary", provides you with a new way of keeping on top of Cognos information. RSS allows you to view continually updated headlines, summaries, and links to full stories on our site, in addition to headlines from other news publications. You can choose which feeds you would like to display.
RSS feeds are free and cognos.com currently uses RSS 2.0.
How do I access the feeds?
To access the RSS feeds you will need to install a news reader (also called RSS/News Aggregator). This is software that will download and display RSS feeds for you. By automatically retrieving updates, you stay current with new content soon after it is published. There are many readers available and most are free. A list of popular readers can be found in the RSS Readers section.
After setting up your news reader, you will be ready to receive RSS feeds from Cognos. To select a feed, right-click on its URL and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location" to copy the location (URL) of the service. Follow the instructions for your particular news reader, and then paste this location wherever it asks for the location of the service you wish to subscribe to.
