This means users can use their own familiar language, such as product names or employee names, and are not limited to product line or other ‘metadata’ names. IBM Cognos 8 Go! is also able to leverage the single metadata store under IBM Cognos 8 BI so that existing BI users can further narrow results by refining how search terms should be interpreted. BI users can also find related BI information directly within reports allowing them to navigate from report-to-report without being confined to pre-defined drill paths.
