Through joint development efforts with Google, IBM Cognos 8 Go! Search allows reports, analyses, dashboards, key metrics, and alerts to be directly accessed by Cognos customers using the Google Search Appliance and Google OneBox for Enterprise.

With Google OneBox for Enterprise, users can receive instant answers to common business questions. The joint solution enables a far-greater range of users in an organization to take advantage of strategic enterprise information, leading to better decision-making and overall performance.

Users can access IBM Cognos 8 BI information, along with traditional sources of information including documents, emails, presentations, spreadsheets, and more – creating a one-stop shop for pertinent enterprise information.

In addition, Google will provide connectivity to IBM Cognos 8 BI information with Google OneBox for Enterprise, a feature of its newest version of the Google Search Appliance. This new product will feature connectivity that provides plug-and-play integration with IBM Cognos 8 BI.

• Google Quality and Ranking: Google factors in more than 100 variables for each query to return the most relevant information.
• Results Grouping: Navigate search results easily and clearly using intelligent grouping of documents residing in the same narrow subdirectories.
• Highlighted Query Terms: Quickly find the most relevant section of a document using the highlighted query terms displayed on cached documents.
• View results as HTML: Display documents without needing the original client application of the file format. The Google Search Appliance can automatically convert more than 220 file formats into HTML.
• Sort by Date: Access time-sensitive information first via date sorting.
• Advanced Boolean Search: Perform complex and sophisticated queries with more than 10 special query terms, including Boolean AND, OR, and NOT searches.
