Host James MacCuaig interviews Cognos product marketing manager Doug Adams and learns that more than 2500 customers report on their PeopleSoft data using Cognos business intelligence. Cognos customers that use PeopleSoft typically gain insights into their headcount and turnover figures along with their financial implications. Similarly, analysis and reports on PeopleSoft data often help customers learn more about how quickly and how accurately their employees submit expense information.

Adams points out that through its integration with PeopleSoft, the various capabilities of Cognos 8 Business Intelligence allow non-technical end users to create and manage their own reports across multiple data sources, all from their web browsers.

Later in the discussion, learn how PeopleSoft is often seen as an excellent data source from which it can be difficult to extract meaningful information. For both data warehousing and transaction system functions, customers use the business intelligence capabilities of Cognos 8 BI to fully leverage their ERP data environment in conjunction with other data sources, and thereby protect all of the associated investments.
