Cognos Signs OEM Agreement with Fidelity
Information Services

— Leading financial services company integrates Cognos with data warehouse and profitability solutions —

BURLINGTON, MA, August 12, 2003—Cognos (NASDAQ: COGN; TSX: CSN), the world leader in business intelligence (BI) and corporate performance management; Fidelity National Financial, Inc. (NYSE:FNF), a Fortune 500 provider of products, services and solutions to the real estate and financial services industries; and Fidelity Integrated Financial Solutions (Fidelity IFS), a division of Fidelity National Financial; today announced a significant original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement. Fidelity IFS will integrate the highly scalable reporting and analysis capabilities of Cognos Enterprise BI Series 7 into Fidelity IFS' TruPROFIT solution suite and Information Warehouse application, allowing financial services organizations to gain increased customer insight and determine individual account and product profitability

Fidelity IFS provides application software, information processing management, outsourcing services and professional IT consulting to the financial services and mortgage industries, including core banking applications, retail lending and servicing solutions, commercial lending, and mortgage lending and servicing solutions.

Fidelity IFS' clients will benefit from having Cognos' leading managed reporting and Web-based online analytical processing (OLAP) capabilities integrated with their data and analytical solutions, providing increased insight into their customer base across all delivery channels and organizational boundaries. With the ability to view customer and product data across the entire enterprise, financial services organizations can analyze customer behavior, channel migration trends, and organizational cost comparisons. This type of detailed information can be used to focus sales and marketing efforts toward their most profitable customer segments.
