BURLINGTON, MA, February 11, 2002—Cognos (Nasdaq: COGN; TSE: CSN) the leading global provider of business intelligence solutions, today announced that informatique-Banques Populaires has purchased a Web-based business intelligence solution that will be used enterprise-wide. The deal, closed in Cognos' third fiscal quarter, was won in a competitive bid.

Informatique-Banques Populaires is part of the Banque Populaire Group, a network of regional cooperative banks. Five hundred employees in sales, finance, and marketing will use Cognos Impromptu Web Reports® and Cognos PowerPlay® via each bank's web portal to analyze and report on factors like key financial metrics, customer data, and profitability.
