As part of the agreement, Cognos becomes a member of the Plumtree Portal Network and is supporting the launch of the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.0, which includes the Massively Parallel Portal Engineä. By integrating Cognos in the Plumtree Corporate Portal as Plumtree Portal Gadgetsä, joint customers have a powerful, single view of their businesses, with simple access to market trends, customer buying habits, channel performance and profitability from all their strategic data sources.

With the integration of Cognos business intelligence in the Plumtree Corporate Portal, customers can search, review and analyze business-critical information for decision-making via the portal, ultimately enhancing relationships with customers, suppliers and partners. By bringing together all of an organization's key electronic assets, including business intelligence, in a secure Web platform, Plumtree can open the business to a wide range of constituencies. The Plumtree Cognos Gadget Suite, developed by Cognos, will allow customers to integrate key capabilities of Cognos business intelligence into the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.0 as Plumtree Portal Gadgetsä. Similar in appearance to the sports scoreboards or stock portfolios of a consumer portal, Plumtree Portal GadgetsT are modular portal components that embed key information and services from enterprise applications and Internet sites ¾ such as sales leads, industry news, or e-mail messages. The Cognos Gadget Suite can also be customized to match the look and feel of the Cognos portal through its XML API.

Combined with the Corporate Portal 4.0, customers will be able to leverage the Cognos business intelligence solution in order to perform high-impact business analysis and reporting, enhance decision-making across the enterprise, and optimize the performance of their business.
