Because our industry is so fast paced and dynamic, a balanced lifestyle is important to keeping up the stamina and enthusiasm that our business demands. Our unique corporate culture goes beyond a casual dress code and sets Cognos apart from other technology companies. New graduates and co-op students can take advantage of a wide range of noon-hour fitness classes, such as aerobics, weight training, yoga, and tae kwon do. In the summer, employees enjoy pick-up games of volleyball, soccer or ultimate Frisbee.

Cognos' corporate character is well known within the regional community. Our employee-run volunteer program brings help to many local community organizations. Last year, Cognos donated almost 800 hours of employee time to community service. Past events have seen Cognos employees scrubbing floors, serving food, and painting walls for drop-in centers, soup kitchens, and other organizations in need. We also support local artists, students, and universities, as well as youth development and continuing education programs.
