Cognos + Applix: Performance Management Leaders Join ForcesOn October 25, 2007, Cognos further extended its position as the leading independent provider of financial performance management solutions with the acquisition of Massachusetts-based Applix, Inc. an industry leader in performance analytics. "This acquisition is a terrific strategic fit for Cognos," said Cognos CEO Rob Ashe. "Applix broadens our solution offering and provides us with an innovative, 64-bit, in-memory multidimensional analytics capability. This is another major step forward in delivering leading performance management solutions to finance and across operations."
